The life and times of Alyssa Vincent, a library science student. |
I haven’t been blogging much about school, because I find that the stress hives on my fingers make it oh-so-painful to type. I’m kidding, but only slightly. I’m a week away from turning in a substantial research paper/accompanying poster, and since I was “awesome” and finished the paper early, I’ve given myself plenty of time to second guess things and generally hate on it.
It’s this part that I always hate. The anxiety that comes from writing, research, all that jazz. I’ve read the information-seeking behavior research. I get that this is all “natural” and “normal.” But damn it, for once I’d love to feel like a librarian rock star. Which, given it’s nerdy nature, you wouldn’t think would be as hard a feeling to attain as it is. In moments like these, I find comfort in people like Dorothy Parker. She was an incredible writer, and yet, had terrible moments of writer’s block and general insecurity.
In other words, my kind of lady.
